why is the gladiator hiring screen so ugly? The screen literally has about 50 tiny squares with a smattering of gladiators strewn randomly across them. Why can’t you just advance time until the next event occurs? what’s the point of having a real time clock to advance time? It serves no purpose whatsoever. Also one of my gladiators had a perk that penalised her each time she got revived, irrelevant with permadeath. I played on permadeath mode, it’s not really implemented properly. Items are also boring they simply improve attributes rather than changing up the gameplay

leveling up heroes results in straight attribute increases, boring! Why can’t you pick new perks or new skills when you level up? Why can’t you improve existing skills or have branching ones as they level up? Why not have gladiators suffer injuries that require treatment and time to heal? Force the player to make difficult decisions, do I risk my best gladiator even though he is not yet at 100% or let him heal first? This will also force the player to invest in a large roster of gladiators to bring in reserves when required.

heroes instantly return to full health after a battle therefore managing a roster of gladiators is too simplistic. The following things need more work I think: Maybe it’s because I played this straight after finishing a long campaign of Battle Brothers, but I have to say I am disappointed by how shallow this game is.
